Major Gift Supports Education at ECS

E-mail Print

PeopleMary K. Gall has turned a stock market windfall into a major leadership gift to ECS. Her $100,000 gift will spearhead the Mary K. Gall Education Engagement Initiative, supporting ECS's continuum of services that advance individuals and families to self-reliance.

Gall, 86, is a longtime supporter of ECS. She volunteered with her parish in the 1970s and has been a member of the ECS Bishop's Circle since 1994. Education is a priority for Gall, a retired chemist. She broke into a male-dominated field after graduating from Vassar during World War II and remains committed to helping others achieve their goals.

Education programs at ECS include adult education at ECS Urban Bridges, early-childhood and after-school programs at ECS St. Barnabas Mission for homeless women and children.
