ECS Day of Service
This is an experience that is both formational and transformational. Let ECS help your parish go deeper into exploring service and discipleship. The day starts at a church in Philadelphia where we gather for prayer and a biblical reflection. Then, we are sent to an ECS service site where we do direct service, meeting people where they are and learning about peace and justice issues from those who are struggle and those who walk with them. We return to our starting location and process the day's experience emphasizing not what you happened to do, but what happened to you.
Confirmation Program with Diocese of PA and ECS
The Diocese of PA, in partnership with ECS, offers confirmation formation days consisting of a visit to Christ Church Philadelphia to learn about the origins of the Episcopal Church, a visit and tour of Episcopal Community Services followed by a discussion about discipleship and confirmation at Church House, lunch, and concluding with a visit to a significant Episcopal Church ministry, e.g., the Seaman's Church Institute, The Philadelphia Cathedral, or The Church of the Advocate.
Parish Education Sessions
Invite an ECS staff member to facilitate biblically-rooted education sessions about contemporary peace and justice themes. The standard format is four 90-minute sessions with an option for two additional sessions. These are perfect as a fall, spring or Lenten series. ECS can also provide speakers for adult forums or high school and college youth. Topics include: an introduction to peace and justice, poverty, racism, and the environment.
